[travel] Jeju trip (day 2-2): Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak & Sea urchin Bibimbab

At around 4pm, we (shamelessly) asked the hotel staff for a free ride to the nearby Seongsan Ilchulbong. Seongsan Ilchubong, or Sunrise Peak, is the top destination in Jeju. The 100,000 year old tuff offers a wonderful panorama of Jeju island on clear day; on sunless, misty days like yesterday, however, the 20 minute hike to the top still gave us some spectacular views.

The hike to the top:

Half way:

Too bad the mist prevented us from taking decent photos:

But the hike down was simply fabulous:

The trail along the sea…

Down there is a black sand beach and a small seafood restaurant:

Down down we went:

To find this beautiful spot:

The sea was fascinating ;A;

And so was the black sand :O

Back to the trail~

Only to be awed once again by how beautiful nature can be:

It was hard to leave this beautiful place…

We decided to walk back to our hotel (~30 minutes) and were captured by this gorgeous sunset:

For dinner, we had 2 other Jeju’s specialties: Bibimbab with sea urchin and Seafood soup. Yummy yummy dinner after a tiring day :D

Sea urchin Bibimbab: 12000 KRW

Seafood soup: 15000 KRW

Abalone!
